My LA Class For 2008

Posted by: shane2012 | May 30, 2008 | No Comment |

My LA class this year was great. The most valuable part of LA this year is learning how to write for different things in different ways. The most memorable thing in LA this year is Mrs. Albanese and how she taught me so many things that can help me in my future, The lesson that made me think the most was the lesson of writing poems in different ways.

The Person I Admire

Posted by: shane2012 | May 29, 2008 | No Comment |

Person to Admire Forever

He is a hard worker who works seven days a week. His name is Dan Lynch and he trains horses’ for a living.

I admire him beyond all other people. He works harder than anybody else I know. He also is a ferrier that trims horses’ hooves.

Right now he is training two horses named Dolche and Willie. He is training them so you can do anything with them. Things like ride them in the water, blow them with a leaf blower and hit then with a beach ball.

Without my dad I wouldn’t know where I would be. He has influenced me to do so many things. I want to be just like him, a horse trainer.

Love,

Shane

Snake Lover

Posted by: shane2012 | May 28, 2008 | No Comment |

This is a picture of the most favorite snake I ever had. I had him for about four years until he died. Every month Ifed him two white rats (live)!! He was an escape artist. He always seemed to escape from the cage. His cage was in the kitchen and when he escaped, we once found him in my closet on my coat hangers. Then I found him outside next to my mailbox when I came home from school and checked the mail. My step mom loved him too!!

Horse Whisperer

Posted by: shane2012 | May 28, 2008 | No Comment |

Easy Now!! That is the sound of my father, Dan, training a horse that has never been touched. The horse rearing in the air, kicking and bucking. The horses name was Stanley. He was so shy. He is only a baby and he has been forced to get to his knees and gave him shots.  Every day since my dad met Stan, he has worked with him more and more to trust humans. He wouldn’t even come near people when they came near him.

First, my dad would use the approach and retreat method. He would walk in front of the horse, but not directly. Then he would walk away. The key to this is never to look at the horse. After a while, Stan trusted my dad and started coming to him. Then a friendship soon formed between them.

Then my dad started to soon take Stan out on walks to get him used to things. Things like the woods, vehicles, buildings and other things. The hardest thing for him to get Stan used to are people. HE always seemed to want to hurt or get away from them. Then my dad started getting him to stand still and let people pet him. Stan let them and he was soon letting anyone pet.

He is a great father and all around friend. I dedicate this post to my dad and Julie my step mom. I dedicate to my dad because he is a hard worker and to Julie because she has helped me learn many things( computers ).

Book Review

Book Review

My book is about “The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood“. A boy named Robin Hood grew as a great athlete and a great shooter of the bow. He grew to be an outlaw when he killed someone for making fun of him because he was to young to shoot in a contest.

Robin Hood always lived his life by disobeying the law. He stole from the rich and gave to the poor. He was nice to everyone but the Sheriff. Over the years he convinced officers to be on his merry side. So the Sheriff always hated him.

This book is full of adventure, dispense, betraying and violence. I recommend this book to all young adult readers.
